Try try try (and up!)

Mussel Rock, Pacifica, 11:30am. WSW @ 12mph

Premature launch, should have taken a wrap. Easily got up over walker and easy transition to cliffs with lots of height. Shared ridge with 9PG and 2HG, no worries. Fog and stronger wind at cliff height kept me no more than 100 ft above cliffs. Played with vario for first time, experienced several wakes from other gliders. Once, when pulling big ears, accidentally pulled inner As instead of outer. Induced a momentary frontal collapse. Pull the blue ones next time, moran!  Approach and landing were on target and in wind.

Errors:

  • Airspeed sensor caught up in harness.
  • GoPro ran out of power because I accidentally filmed parawaiting.
  • Hands got cold, need better gloves.

0:45 Mussel Rock (Walker), reverse launch.
