Centaurea Solstitialis

Mussel Rock, Pacifica, 5pm. West @ 10mph

Good ground handling and launch from Tomcat. Headed N along Steps, decided I was too low to make it to cliffs, turned back, decided I was too low to make it anywhere, turned N again and set up for landing in the Saddle. Didn’t give myself enough landing strip, I touched down in front of a big Star Thistle bush. Spent about 45 minutes rescuing glider with shears and saw. Met Dave. Thanks for the clippers and saw, Dave!

Errors:

  • Hurried, cramped landing due to lack of planning.
  • Didn’t announce launch.
  • Star Thistle. Killing wing right away would have helped a lot.

0:01 Mussel Rock (Walker), reverse launch.
