Fog Tickles

Mussel Rock, Pacifica, 12mph W, fog at 400 feet

Launched from Lemmings, experienced some rotor while kiting and dropped the wing a few times, but good control overall. Strong launch into the wind, then I headed north for an easy up over the Slide. Flirted with the fog layer, never completely whiting out. Lost more height than anticipated when practicing a steep 360 over the ocean. Came home a little stressed, but with at least 100 ft of altitude to spare. I set up a straight-in landing on the middle road but changed my mind and went for the lowest road when I noticed a dog walker coming towards me. I looped back so as to avoid running out of landing space, which put me on a slightly downwind course. Strong flare and a few running steps finished the landing nicely.

  • High-bank 360 turn too low to ground.

0:19 Mussel Rock (Lemmings), reverse launch.
